Keys were kept on top of the white thing (shoe cupboard). It got messy. This is in the hallway, where there's only a mirror on the wall, so it allowed for more decorations. I decided a keyholder would make a nice decoration, if I managed to make it look nice. Enter: frames. Frames are all the rage of late. Keys are now hung on hooks within the frames. It's less messy:)

I used some random frames I found in my basement and 4 hooks I bought for the occasion. After laying the frames on a table to figure out how I wanted them to be arranged, I nailed them on the wall, kinda haphazardly, and then nailed the hooks inside the frames. I'd advice anyone to pre-arrange keys to each frame & hook, as the arrangement turned  out a little off kilter for me, bc I did it without preplanning this detail. Some frames had to be fastened with tape or extra nails so as not to fall off each time I place a key on a hook:)
